There was much to celebrate for Team Ireland at the Acrobatics Celtic Cup at the Ravenscraig Sports Centre in Scotland on the 29th March, where the Irish contingent claimed 3rd place overall in the international competition.
Some great performances from Ireland’s Grade 3 groups, which included two of our very own gymnasts, Kate McGuinn and Orla Mc Glinchey, saw them take the silver medal in the competition, while Ireland’s Grade 4s followed up by taking the bronze medal in their competition.
The Grade 5 groups finished just outside the medals in 4th place, while Ireland’s 11-16, 12-18 and Senior groups all put in solid performances to cap a great competition for Team Ireland. The club would like to congratulate all the team members, coaches and judges, but especially to club members, Kate Mc Guinn and Orla Mc Glinchey who performed beautifully and proudly for our club, Sligo and the Country, achieving their best score to date, 26.250
